Some photographs snapped around Westminster Abbey after work yesterday evening.
And the friendly bat that lives on my balcony door (his friend lives with my sister):
Hope everyone's having a good weekend, however (and whether) you are marking Hallowe'en, All Hallows' Day and All Souls' Day.
Love the lighting and perspective on Westminster! Did you notice the shadowy forms (of architecture) through the windows in the last photo. I think that is the lamp which caught my attention around Christmas time 2012, when I was photographing the Christmas tree. Your friendly bat is wonderful! I did mark All Soul's Day at a special service in a small country town here, by the water. As the incense rose, one of the congregation read out the names of those whose funerals had been in the church over the past five years, plus any requests. If the "chief mourner" was there, they stepped forward at the naming, to light a taper candle from a main candle, then stand it in the sand in the pot. I am very glad that I attended and lit a candle. I found it very moving.
